We’re happy to share the close of our fundraise at $2.6m with an incredible set of investors that we’re so excited to partner with. Participation of this seed round was from Y-Combinator, Bling Capital, Grix Ventures, Global Founders Capital, Soma Capital, and Evening Fund. Our amazing network of angels includes the founders of Dropbox, Citus Data, Bloom Institute of Technology, and execs across Google, Zapier, Confluent, and Twitter.
A huge thank you to all our investors and supporters who believe in our mission to change the access game. We’re so grateful to have you be a part of the Vista family.
How we got here
Sid and I left our jobs last year to solve for the frustrating task we dealt with at our old jobs: building and managing access.
Over the past year, we’ve been interviewing developers and product managers to deeply understand the pain points that were echoed across countless companies. As a part of Y-Combinator’s W22 batch, we were also able to work with our group partners and fellow founders to launch a product that solves for both flexibility and ease of use.
About Vista and the problem with permissions
Vista is an API-first solution for software companies to build scalable permissions. Permissions are a key security feature for all technology companies, and continually evolve with the growth of an organization. Beyond this, granular role-based access is a requirement to land any enterprise-level contract, with direct implications to a company’s bottom line.
Despite its importance, permissions are rarely a key product differentiator, and we too often see companies implementing an in-house, stop-gap solution that needs to be ripped and replaced over and over again. By leveraging the Vista permissions builder UI and APIs, developers can build a permissions system that scales with the changing business needs of the company.
Where we’re going
This fundraise takes us one step closer in bringing our vision to market, hiring a world-class team, and building something that people want. Ultimately, we want to be the go-to player for everyone who needs access, from an enterprise restructuring its access model to a startup building out roles for its first enterprise customer.
